Norwich Castle

Norwich Castle is 900 years old, and is an example of the gorgeous Norman architecture the city has to offer. Originally built as a Royal Palace, Norwich Castle is now home to a museum and art gallery – a fantastic educational trip for the family! Better yet, being within the Castle means that the kids will get to explore the many historic features that it has to offer, from the Castle Keep to the 41-metre deep well, as well as learning about the Castle’s 500-year stint as prison for those who committed crimes. The museum also features a number of exhibits, including an Artic polar bear, Ancient Egyptian mummy, and more!

Norwich Cathedral

As old as Norwich Castle, Norwich’s Cathedral is also an excellent example of Norman architecture, and has one of the tallest spires in the United Kingdom at 96m tall. The cathedral is open to those of all faiths, and those who have none, for art, culture, learning, worship and more. There are also free guided tours around the Cathedral, offered by volunteer guides who give deeper insight into the history of the Cathedral.
