Family Friendly Beaches in Norfolk
Being on the coast, Norfolk has plenty of beaches for you and the family to choose from. Family friendly beaches in Norfolk are everywhere – but here’s our favourite, and they’re all just a short drive or walk from Hemsby Beach Holiday Park!
A sand and shingle beach below low, sandy cliffs is a little piece of the US – California beach. Whilst not as bustling as the likes of Great Yarmouth, Cromer or Hemsby, this beach is still a good option for family’s seeking a more peaceful family day out. With public toilets, and light refreshments available, California Beach makes for a relaxing family day at the seaside.
Traditionally Victorian, the sand and shingle beach at Cromer is great for splashing about in with the kids. With a lifeguard service and a great range of facilities nearby, this is a nice place for a day out at the seaside. Better still, why not look for your very own Cromer Crabs in the pools around the beach? Famous for their quality taste, why not see if you and the kids can find some?
Great Yarmouth Beach
Alongside the lively Great Yarmouth “Golden Mile” is Great Yarmouth’s gorgeous beach. With a wide variety of arcades and attractions nearby, this is a fantastic beach to visit if you’re looking to make a day of it. You can easily switch between lounging on the beach and getting stuck in to a great range of activities, from crazy golf to Merrivale Model Village, this is a beach full of fun!
The location of our very own Hemsby Beach Holiday Park, of course Hemsby’s beach is a family favourite! With a lively near-by village filled with shops, amusements, attractions and cafes, this beach is in a prime location for a family-fun day to the seaside. With events such as Herring Festival and the New Viking Festival over the summer, and easily accessible amenities such as deckchair hire and toilets, and a lifeguard patrol in summer for peace of mind, this is perfect for the family.
Part of the Holkham Estate, Wells-next-the-Sea beach has ample parking and the option for dogs to also visit (restrictions permitting). With lovely classic beach huts, small pools when the tide is out (perfect for small ones!) and a great opportunity to get the bucket and spade out whether the tide is in or out thanks to the soft sand of this beach.
