Discover all the best spots in Cromer and Sheringham

They may be a little further away from the lively resort of Great Yarmouth and the cultural city of Norwich, but these beautiful north Norfolk coastal towns are well worth the journey to discover their rich heritage, breathe in the sea air, play on the beach and tuck into some fish and chips or an ice cream on the prom.

Cromer and Sheringham

These historical fishing towns are around 30 miles from Hemsby Beach Holiday Park and can be reached in an hour by car, making them perfect destinations for a day trip during your stay. Cromer, famous for its delicious crabs and wonderful Victorian pier, and Sheringham, with a sprawling National Trust park, are two of the most popular spots for holidaymakers and locals alike to experience the best of the north Norfolk coast. You may even be lucky enough to catch one of the annual events held in the towns, such as the Crab and Lobster Festival, Sheringham 1940s Weekend and Cromer Carnival.

Visit the lifeboat stations

Both Cromer and Sheringham are key Royal National Lifeboat Association (RNLI) locations – and have active lifeboat stations that you can visit. Cromer’s was established in 1804, with Sheringham’s following in 1838. If you’re interested in the history of the lifeboats, there are displays of historic craft and other items at the Henry Blogg Museum in Cromer (named after the most decorated lifeboatman in RNLI history), Sheringham Museum at the Mo, and the Fisherman’s Lifeboat Museum in Sheringham.
