Dog Friendly Days Out in Norfolk

At Hemsby Beach Holiday Park we have special pet-friendly caravans, so you can bring along the dog for a seaside holiday on the Norfolk coast!
With beaches upon beaches to run along*, pubs that you can enjoy with the pooch, and heritage sites to sniff around, why not bring the pup along to enjoy dog friendly days out in Norfolk.

Why not stop for a spot of breakfast at Bridgestones of Potter based in the nearby village of Potter Heigham? With homemade dishes made from fresh and local ingredients, the restaurant offers an all-day breakfast and dogs are more than welcome to join their owners in the restaurant’s own garden area. They also have a delicious array of cakes for those with a sweet tooth – just make sure to keep them out of the dog’s paws!

Then, you might enjoy a leisurely stroll along Caister Point beach, where the dog can stretch his legs and chase the sea whilst you relax after breakfast. A sandy beach, this dog-friendly beach is just a 15-minute drive from Hemsby Beach Holiday Park and is perfect for families with dogs.

If you’re starting to feel a bit peckish, then why not head over to the Marine Family Pub on the Great Yarmouth seafront? With a warm welcome and excellent hospitality, this family-orientated pub has been in business for over 30 years serving a traditionally English pub menu, from fish & chips and steak, to gammon & egg – they’ve even been known to whip up a special dog’s dinner! With dogs welcome at all times, even in the summer, this is a fantastic pooch-friendly pub in the heart of the Great Yarmouth Golden Mile.

As the afternoon rolls around, why not indulge in a bit of Norfolk heritage at Burgh Castle? Dogs do need to be on leads in the spring and summer months when visiting this historic site to protect wildlife, but after running about on the beach he may be tired enough to wander around the 3rd century Roman fort. As well as the intimidating stone walls and catapult towers, the site also features beautiful views of Great Yarmouth’s glimpse into the famous Norfolk Broads, Breydon Water.

For dinner, head back to Hemsby for an evening meal in the dog-friendly Lacon Arms. Popular with locals and holidaymakers alike, the Lacon Arms sits near Hemsby’s seafront, just a 5-minute walk from Hemsby Beach Holiday Park. With a dining area, bar, beer garden and front terrance, there’s plenty of room to enjoy a nice hot meal whilst the pup cools down after his exciting day on the Norfolk coast! Complete with a main menu, kids’ menu, and Sunday menu, this is a wonderful place to wind down at the end of the day and enjoy the views Hemsby has to offer – just a short walk from your accommodation!
