What to Pack for a Family Seaside Holiday
We do like to be beside the seaside… but sometimes, it can be hard to remember to pack everything! From sun cream to sun hats, toiletries to snacks – we know the struggle! That’s why we’ve put together a handy list of things to bring along so you don’t have to worry about remembering everything yourself! Plus, we’ve included a handy checklist so you can check things off as you pack them!
As we all know, UV rays can be harmful. Sun damage is easy to prevent – but it’s also very easy to leave all-important sun protection at home. A high SPF sun cream (make sure its waterproof if you’re swimming), especially for young skin, is essential, as are sun hats with a wide brim or a cap with a flap at the back to help protect the ears and neck from the sun.
Other useful sun protection includes:
- Beach tent / shelter (also great for getting changed out of wet costumes!)
- Light and loose fitting clothing
Travelling with Children?
Make sure to bring entertainment for them! At Hemsby Beach Holiday Park, we have lots of Go Active activities for the kids to get involved with, our fantastic Ellie the Elephant Club in the evening and brilliant cabaret acts and our very own Richardson’s Entertainment Team through the night. None the less, the car journey will be made easier with some personal entertainment items, plus it never hurts to have something to entertain the kids on hand! Books, tablets, mp3 players are all great options!
If you’re travelling with very young children, then their essentials are a definite must. If you use a baby monitor at home, this will be useful whilst on holiday. Sippy cups, baby bottles, bibs and baby formula / food are also essential. Nappies, nappy cream, wipes and bags as well as a dummy and a bag of toys are also top of the list, plus a buggy to make exploring much easier!
You might want to bring a bag of toys, your children’s favourite teddy they just can’t sleep without or some activity books!
Don’t Forget These Important Things!
It can be fun remembering to bring all the toys, swimsuits and the like, but you shouldn’t forget important basics like shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste and towels – both for the bathroom and for the beach and pool! Water bottles are also a good idea, as well as a small first aid kid, any medication and some insect repellent.
The Fun Things!
Don’t forget your camera, so you can take photos and make memories, as well as chargers for any electric device. DVDs are also a great idea, as each accommodation comes with a DVD player. Buckets and spades are a must for the beach, as well as some beach toys, as at Hemsby Beach Holiday Park, we’re just 10 minutes on foot from the seaside!
